I usually work with ableton on a PC, and now I'm considering buying a new laptop (macbook).
Now I've heard that in some cases, the compatibility between Windows and Mac OS X isn't always very good,
but I've no idea what it's like with music softwares.

Sep 26, 2018  I get crackling with any buffer size lower than 512 in Ableton Live 10.0.3. Just updated to Mojave and no improvement. Apple is replacing my laptop but Im pretty sure this is a software problem related to the T2 chip and not defective hardware. This is definitely the very last MAC OS that supports 32 bit apps of any kind, so keep that in.

Can I work on a project file on both systems the same time without any problems?

Apple has just released its latest macOS 10.14 operating system called “Mojave”. It brings a host of new features for Mac laptop and desktop users, including the sleek new Night Mode, but be warned: your DJ gear and DJ software may not be compatible with it just yet.
