- Jul 13, 2012 Hi, Live is not appearing as a D&D target when dropping from explorer, Windows 7. Go back to 8.3 and it's fine. I've tried this with Live open on it's own and then with Soundforge open, so I can clearly see Live is not a target when dragging the file over it, but when I then move on to Soundforge I can drop it in there.
- In the Ableton tab inside Scratch Live, when you drag the Ableton control track (drag and drop the Ableton set name on the left to a deck), and trigger some clips - do you get any audio level coming through the track level meter? Would you be able to take a screen shot of the Ableton tab in Scratch Live while you have some clips playing.
- Splice - 'Download failed' Whenever I try to download samples it says 'Download failed'. Tried two different browsers and I have the latest desktop plugin. Does the shit work or nah? I can't come up w any good chord progressions, the standard ones sound boring af to me. I like glide progressions or parallel progressions but those can get.
- (If you have already downloaded stuff from us in the past, go to step 5) 1. First, create a new folder called “HelloSamples” wherever you want on you computer. (This folder will contain all the future Live Packs you are going to download) 2. Open Ableton Live and go to “Places”, on the Library browser (left side on the screen) 3.
Jul 23, 2017 In zis video. We will talk about using ze video in abeton live. Importing, editing, cutting music to picture using warp markers, exporting. Basically everything you need to know to get. Backwards compatibility has always been Live's worst function; a project in 9.7.1 cannot, for example, be opened in 9.7. The simplest thing you can do is save all your instruments/effects as presets and have all your project folders in something like DropBox, because then you'll be able to pop back and forth between your computers and access the same presets.

His latest free Max for Live device, 'ju.randomizer', will randomize the parameters of any selected target device (instrument or effect) in Live. Plus, ju.randomizer will name your new preset for you - check out the screenshot above for 'long-term amount', a randomly generated Operator preset. Sound Design Toolkit
Last (but definitely not least) this week is a set of inspiring foley sounds, glitchy electronics, and other samples from 99Sounds and musician/sound designer Gavin Thibodeau aka Embra.
In an interview with 99Sounds explaining the process behind this pack, Gavin reveals how tools such as Live factor into his work: 'I guess my favorite thing about Ableton Live is its rack capabilities. Seriously, so many of my sounds, whether sampler or synth, are layered in the racks and I use the macro function a lot! Also, its easy re-sampling functionality for quickly bouncing down sounds and being able to further manipulate them is really useful.'

Taishokoto from Fidelitarium
The Taishokoto is harp-like instrument from the Japanese Taisho era in the early 20th century. Strummed with one hand and keyed with the other, it features both plucked and sympathetic (drone) strings. Phillip Jackson at Fidelitarium has shared a free Instrument Rack made of samples from the Taishokoto - preview it above and head to Fidelitarium to download for Live.
Noise, Hiss & Crackle from SampleRadar
Free Download Stuff
Modern digital recording and playback might have eliminated tape hiss, vinyl crackle, and other analog noise, but sometimes you want that special character in your tracks. For example, listen to how sampled (and filtered) vinyl noise adds a gritty character to Burial's signature tune, 'Archangel':
Get an arsenal of analog noise samples for free with MusicRadar's sample pack - featuring 502 different samples of warm hiss, crackle, and other audio blemishes.
